This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a group of 30 vibrant and lively 3rd grade students in a Title I school in the Bronx. We love to learn and are extremely motivated to succeed in school.

I am motivated to help my students become avid readers who enjoy immersing themselves in interesting books.

We have a variety of needs in our classroom, but each child feels like they are a part of a "team" and enjoy working together. They call themselves CHAMPIONS and love to be persistent. My students deserve the best in order to help them succeed in 3rd grade!

My Project

My students consist of struggling readers who are eager to see their reading levels grow! They are persistent, and energetic when it comes to reading interesting stories.

By donating to this project, you are helping my students become better readers, as well as increase their academic achievement.

These guided reading sets are engaging, and enjoyable with differentiated sets for all learning needs. With these sets, my students will be able to immerse themselves into interesting texts, as well as focus on reading objectives that are crucial to the third grade curriculum. I am motivated to have my students find reading fun and to read out of enjoyment.

The best way to have our students grow in reading is to supply them with interesting reading material. My students already show an interest in reading, and these non-fiction texts will enhance their passion for reading.
