Fall in Love With Nature

Help me give my students plants, books about plants, and a window bird feeder. These supplies will get their hands dirty and get more connected with nature while we learn about plants and animals.

My Project

Students in my STEM class will research plants and animals that live in our local habitat. They will use the sets of books to read with a partner to learn about how plants grow. We will study the parts of plants and their functions in their life cycles. We will learn about the birds that live near us. We will use the transparent bird feeder to document the different birds that visit.

Hands-on learning drives engagement and curiosity.

Students will control the direction of the learning so we are able to learn more about the habitat we live in. With the books and the transparent bird feeder, students will be able to experience nature firsthand. Videos are great, but being engaged and connected adds a little more excitement to the topics we are researching. As we learn about pollination, we will plant flowers in our outdoor science lab.
