My students need 3 VEX kits so they can begin designing and building their competition robot. This kit will come with all of the supplies necessary for them to design, build and code competition robot.
This past year one my teams competed against 40 other countries at the VEX Robotic Worlds Championship! We currently have 8 teams, which allows for over 40 students to design, build and code competition robots. The teams must document their design strategies, solutions, processes and then innovate their concepts to continue to compete across the state at events. I have coached between 5 and 8 teams over the past 5 years. The past two years I have had to limit my teams to only 7th and 8th graders, due to lack of equipment and funding.
Students will be able to design, build and code robots. When I talk to engineers at local engineering firms, they emphasis the important of students learning how to work collaboratively and creatively to solve problems.
Students become very excited when their ideas come to life and their robot preforms according to their plans!
They discover a passion for technology, robots and coding that they did not know they possessed.
I love seeing them light up when they are successful and work together to solve issues when they are not! They learn the values of team work and thinking through problems.
