My Project
At our school in Tuscaloosa, AL, a Title 1 school full of bright, creative minds, our students are eager to express themselves and stay connected. With the recent ban on cell phones during the school day, students have lost their usual way of engaging with media. That’s why we’re launching Falcon Frequency, a fun, student-led podcast that gives them a new outlet for creativity, storytelling, and school spirit.
To bring this project to life, we’re requesting essential podcast equipment: the FEELWORLD LIVEPRO video switcher, a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, and two professional TASCAM lavalier microphone recorders.
With this setup, students in grades 10 through 12 will learn real-world media production skills, including editing, recording, live streaming, and more.
The podcast will feature school news, student interviews, creative segments, and educational content, providing students with a platform to share their voices while gaining career-ready experience. With the media industry expected to reach $3.5 trillion in the next five years, this project opens the door to future opportunities many of our Title 1 students might not otherwise access.
