My 2nd grade classroom is made up of diverse students. In my classroom you will find students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. I have students who live in poverty and students who come from middle class working families. Many of my students speak English at school and another language at home.
My students are curious and eager to learn.
They do not let their situations in life stifle their desire to learn. I have a wonderful class of students.
My students love listening to these "fairly true" tales. These books have brought classic fairy tales to life. These books are full of humor and adventure. Each year I check these books out from the library and we have 1 copy to share as a class.
These books would increase student literacy by putting our favorite read-aloud books in the the hands of students.
This will give students the opportunity to read along as I read to them.
I have a Skype conference call scheduled with the author. Past students have loved doing a Q&A with author Liesl Shurtliff each year.
