This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 5th grade students are growing readers who are ready to dive deeper into informational texts to build their understanding of the world. As we work on improving reading comprehension, critical thinking, and research skills, having access to engaging, age-appropriate nonfiction books is essential.

These informational texts will help my students explore a wide range of topics—from science and history to current events and biographies—while strengthening their ability to analyze, synthesize, and retain key details.

Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on nonfiction reading, and these resources will support classroom lessons, small group instruction, and independent learning.

By bringing in fresh and diverse informational books, I hope to ignite curiosity, encourage fact-based exploration, and help students grow as confident, informed readers. Your support will provide the tools they need to succeed not just in reading, but across all content areas.
