My Students

My students' area is a wonderful mixture of diversity. The school is in an urban setting and is majority African American and Latino. Ninety-seven percent of the student population receives free or reduced-price lunch and their test scores fall far below the state average.

I am a new teacher and want to help bring these students all that they deserve!

I am so looking forward to being a difference to these students and you can help me make that happen for them.

My Project

In my classroom, we do not leave out any culture or holiday, instead we celebrate them all! It is amazing to see how much students cling on to the historical facts. They just finished an amazing performance about Jackie Robinson using information from one of these "I AM" books.

Now they keep asking who else we can learn about!

I would love your help in getting some more of these great books into my classroom and into their hands. I am looking forward to seeing their literacy and creativity shine.
