This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the core components to my classroom culture is an emphasis on student ownership of their learning. Many of the assignments and projects we work on are collaborative and focus heavily on teamwork and collaboration. Unfortunately, my classroom lacks space where students can work collaboratively together and the one whiteboard in the classroom is reserved for daily instruction.

The movable whiteboards will provide students with spaces to plan, collaborate, and teach each other as we navigate through our course content.

It will support my classroom principles of student ownership and self efficacy since the students will have their own spaces to write and plan, independent of my own provided resources. Additionally, the whiteboards are more environmentally friendly than my current situation of printing out planning sheets on paper each time we are working through content analysis.
