Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I devoted the first 10 years of my teaching career to working with 4-year-olds, now I'm in my third year teaching fourth grade, and I'm loving it! It was a little scary at first because of the big jump. But something I learned is that without a doubt there are needs in every classroom!

My student demographics include English Language Learners, low social economic status, and single parent-guardian households.

Most of these kids have no ideas or aspirations as to what they want in life, so they settle for what they see in their daily life. I teach these students to embrace the importance and the impact education can have in their lives.

My students are very humble, hardworking, and responsible individuals who should have the same learning opportunities as everyone else. Most of the time, lack of proper resources limits these opportunities. As an educator, I feel that it is our responsibility to prepare and equip students with the proper tools to be successful in school.

My Project

This Teacher Pay Teachers gift card will help me purchase digital materials that have been already created by actual teachers all over the nation. These are wonderful resources created by teachers for teachers!

I have always planned for my classes, but distance learning (e-learning) has now converted our profession to a 24 hour job, due to the fact we have to create every assignment or convert them to digital assignments for students to be able to work on.

Having funds to purchase digital materials will help me save time and focus on planning the live lessons for my students during distance learning.

These resources will be shared with my students as a digital copy through Google Classroom so they can work on them as part of their asynchronous learning or assignments assigned to them.
