Fabulous First Graders Need Classroom Rug

My students need a carpet to sit on during whole group learning time. The students need a soft place to sit on the floor.

My Students

Our school day is filled with learning how to read, add, subtract, and of course, lots of fun brain breaks! I use Smarboard technology to engage my students to create a fun learning environment.

The 2014-2015 school year will be my first year teaching 1st grade.

There will be around twenty students in our class. Most students are 6-7 years old. They are full of energy and excitement! Sitting still in chairs is not going to happen at this age. We need room to move and wiggle!

My Project

The classroom rug will be in the front of the room. My students will be able to sit comfortably on the rug as we learn our phonics and new math skills. They will be able to see the Smartboard and dry erase board easily here. The rug will be a place for our class to come together as a community of learners. On the rug, we are all friends who are ready to learn something new together!

The rug will be large enough for everyone to have their own spot to focus and learn. It will create a homey atmosphere that helps student feel at ease and relaxed so that they can have a better learning experience.
