My Students

My 5th graders attend a collaborative, diverse, and creative public school in Brooklyn, NY. We teach our students to be intellectually curious learners, socially responsible citizens, and dynamic problem solvers.

This is my first year teaching 5th grade, and is actually the first year my school has had a 5th grade class, and I want to celebrate my students, their accomplishments, and their graduation with some meaningful grade projects!

In order for my students to be as successful, motivated, and engaged as possible, I want to create a comfortable, accessible, and organized environment in which they can explore, create, and challenge themselves.

My Project

I teach an unforgettable group of fifth graders. This is the only school they've ever known, and will soon be split amongst the numerous middle schools in New York City and Brooklyn. We are a small, tight-knit community school, and these kids have forged incredible friendships.

I want my students to not only have a chance to express their creativity with these shirts and tote bags, but to also have a way to hold onto friends and memories each and every day.

At the end of the school year, I want to devote a couple of days to bonding activities and chances to reflect, and I think these shirts and bags will be a fun way to do that!
