For example, the students love completing their writing tasks using the fun grips and drawing a picture with the squiggle pen afterwards. The materials that we received through this project were used to create meaningful and engaging literacy centers to support our students in differentiated learning! Our literacy centers block is a time when students work in groups to develop their phonemic awareness, foundational reading skills, and writing abilities. These activities are student centered and led, and therefore require no direction from me. The integration of these engrossing centers activities therefore provides me with a wonderful block of time each day that I use to work in small groups with my students, providing differentiated support to them.\r\n\r\nThank you again for the kindness and generosity you have all showed to last year's class, and now to this year's class! With the support, we cleared out compacted soil, added compost, and planted native species that attract pollinators. The space, once dry and unused, has become a small ecosystem where students can watch living things grow and interact. They test the soil, track the insects that visit, and talk about how healthy soil connects to clean air and water. It has turned into a quiet corner where science feels real and alive.\r\n\r\nThe change in the students has been just as meaningful as the change in the garden. They take pride in caring for the space and talk about it as something they helped create. Seeing butterflies return or flowers bloom reminds them that their hands made a difference. For many, this has been their first experience watching the results of steady care over time. We are so grateful to the donors who made this possible. But from where I sit (and where my students now freely sit, scoot, and gather), it's clear that your gift sparked a quiet revolution in how we learn.\r\n\r\nThese stools are more than furniture; they're tiny catalysts for movement, collaboration, and agency. Students no longer feel tethered to a single seat. They join other groups with ease, scoot over to observe our hydroponic plants, or settle in next to our stick bugs or hissing cockroach for a bit of close-up scientific observation. What once required rearranging an entire table now takes just one swift scoot and a spark of curiosity.\r\n\r\nThe result? More conversations. More peer feedback. More choice. More joy. In our classroom, flexibility has become an instructional tool, and the stools, humble as they may seem, have played a starring role in that shift.\r\n\r\nThank you for seeing the value in something so deceptively simple.
