Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These materials will make a difference by allowing my students opportunities to work have fresh materials. We are out of crayons and dry erase markers for the year. I also am asking for some STEAM games, building supplies and manipulatives for reading. These games are not only educational but will also provide them time in class to problem solve and build social skills. Some of the educational games include Magnatiles, Elkonin Boxes for reading and 3D Building Bars.
All of these give my student's time away from technology to build empathy, listening skills, manners, appropriate resolutions to conflict and many more.
I am hoping that by providing students with these games and resources to grow into hard working citizens who know how to handle situations and arguments, in a manner that is productive. Students in my classroom come from a wide variety of socioeconomic status. I'd love to give them the opportunity for new experiences and materials.
