Fabric And Fun For The Future

My students need pins, scissors, fabric, 6 seam rippers, 6 sewing gauges to continue their sewing& crafting skills.

I teach grades 5-12 in a two teacher rural Alaskan, Native Tlingit school. There are 18 students K-12.

The students love to work on craft projects and traditional arts. They are learning to bead, weave and basic regalia making, They have worked on some basic sewing projects at my home. Students would like to grow their skills and expand to making some things for them selves & elders. There is no funding for fine arts or additional supplies.

Through a series of grants and another funded project I ave been able to procure sewing machines, This is a low income subsistence area. Students and their families to not have the resources to provide fabric and or notions for such endeavors. The material and swing notions would aid in creating a sustainable program in our community,

Your donations will empower both students and community members to learn a new skill, express themselves artistically and give back to their community. Te donation of fabric scissors, pins and quilting rulers will remain in the school to be used by successive classes .
