This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in an urban high school in Providence, Rhode Island. I I teach science to 9-12th graders. I have a diverse population of students that come from very different backgrounds. My students require special instruction around social emotional experiences as well as academic experiences.

I am excited to provide my students with science opportunities that increase engagement in academics as well as expose them to the science community.

My students are taught by extra supportive adults that work to build a community to open the students' eyes to possibilities.

My Project

Depending on what school looks like in the Fall, the document camera I am requesting can be used to model scientific inquiry from home or in the classroom setting.

If students are back in the classroom in the Fall I can use the camera to model science inquiry skills and the students can use the camera to share their work while maintaining social distance.

If we go back to school but have intermittent breaks due to COVID I can bring the camera home to continue classroom based instruction in a consistent way.
