My Students

My 7th grade students arrive at P.E. excited about what they will be doing in the gym every day. We are a Title I school and Physical Education activities are the ONLY exercise that many of these students get! P.E. provides the opportunity for them to come together, to collaborate, and to compete, while improving their overall health and fitness.

My students love to show their skills and win competitions among each other, especially when they compete against the 8th graders!

They strive to be the best and want to learn new ways to stay fit.

My Project

My Project will help improve the hand-eye coordination of my students. We need table tennis equipment to do this with. With eyes on the ball and a hand on a paddle, table tennis naturally promotes the improvement of hand-eye coordination. Students love to compete, especially in middle school. Providing a P.E. center in the gym, with one of them being table tennis, our students will develop mental awareness, improve reflexes, and burn calories. From improving core muscles to improving balance, our middle school students can benefit from learning to play table tennis.

Students will also be playing with students they do not know well, which will expand their social circle.

Students will learn how to communicate while burning calories moving quickly to keep their eyes on the ball!
