Help me give my students a boost in learning their sight words. Sight words are found everywhere when we read. These cards will help my students improve their reading and writing skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
"Eyewords is an evidence-based multisensory-orthographic learning system." Sight Words/High-Frequency words show up more frequently when speaking, reading, and writing than other words. They are everywhere and they can be tough as nails to learn for a Kindergartener or if you are a multi language learner. These sight words/high-frequency words don't always follow the rules!
We don't think of that as adults who have already learned these words and have been reading, writing, and speaking them for years.
For example, words with the magic "e" make the middle vowel say its name. Such as the word "make." Then you have a word like "have" but it doesn't follow the magic "e" rule!
People like to say "I deserve the best because I do this..." Or "My organization deserves the best because we do that..." I believe every child deserves the best because school and life are already challenging enough. Why not give students better tools that they need to be successful? These "Eye Words" will help my students learn these tough words which will free up their minds. They'll be able to use those words to help further their education across all subjects. After all, they are our future! They deserve the best!
