Help me give my students a visual timer, work folders and supply caddy for organization. My students exhibit delays in executive functioning. These tools will both support and strengthen these areas to promote independence in their learning environment.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students would significantly gain from resources that enhance executive functioning and independence. The timer will allow the students to see the time that is allocated for the completion of a task. The folders will be labeled with stickers that indicate “Things I’m working on” in green and “Things I’ve completed” in red so that students can independently organize their work. The drawer organizer will be labeled with visuals and contain highlighters, erasers, sharpeners, paper clips so that students can easily assess them throughout the day without having to rely on assistance to retrieve these items. By incorporating these resources, it is the goal to foster greater independence among students in their learning journeys.
Providing these tools will not only aid in developing essential skills but also empower our students to take charge of their educational experiences.
By strengthening their organizational capabilities, we can help them to navigate their learning environments more effectively, ultimately guiding them toward achieving their academic goals.
