Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My Project

I teach 6th - 8th grade drama, including Musical Drama.

We put on two plays per school year- a Christmas play and a Spring Musical, and we are constantly in need of supplies to make props for our plays.

Although we we get some supplies from our parents and other donations, Donors Choose is a wonderful resource to help us supplement the supplies needed for building props. These props are created primarily by our students, as well as other art teachers and students within our district. Doing so allows our students to truly appreciate the process of preparing for performances. In addition, it allows them to personalize their creations and take ownership of all of their hard work.

In the past, Donors Choose has been a reliable resource for my students at Clifdale. You are always there to help to lend us a helping hand when needed.
