it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I currently teach fourth grade science to about 150 wonderful students. Our first unit is learning about structures and their functions on both plants and animals. The culminating activity is to make a model of a realistic eyeball, including the optic nerve that is attached to the brain.
In order to make these models a reality, we need materials for a lot of students including: styrofoam balls, pink card stock for brain, pipe, cleaners for attachments, markers for the eyes, and dowels to stick the eyeballs onto a styrofoam bottom so that they can stand up in the class.
