My students enter first grade every year ready to learn how to read. The process of learning how to read varies from student to student. A huge undertaking for first grade students is learning how to read high frequency words. High frequency words are words used most often in written text.
If students aren't able to decode high frequency words, they struggle to build reading fluency skills.
We are asking for Eyewords to assist with increasing high frequency words acquisition. Eyewords combine a visual-contextual, auditory cue and kinesthetic action with orthographic mapping to accelerate sight word recognition. If given Eyewords, students will begin to recognize high frequency words and apply when reading. We are looking forward to increasing student reading fluency skills through the use of Eyewords.
