This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm full of new ideas and excited to implement them in my classroom. It's time for an extreme class makeover...mental health edition!

My room is ready to be refreshed for a more calm and comfortable space for Students on campus to recharge.

In order to make the space more cohesive and help Students feel less overstimulated, I will add white bulletin paper and add white storage cabinets. The storage containers allow me to organize mental health resources including games and art supplies while tucking them away to avoid clutter that leads Students to feel more stressed and on edge. I want to add felt bulletin boards to post motivational quotes, flyers for upcoming events or resources, and artwork given to me by students. The facial sprays will help Students who are feeling tired to reenergize and refocus before returning to class and I would like to add some resources to my "Care Closet" for headache relief. This is something many stressed out teens struggle with and makes it difficult for them to fully engage in their classes when in physical pain. Lastly, I would like a few more containers of slime to my room because I mean, come on, what teenager doesn't love slime? I think that one is self explanatory. It's their favorite supply in my room and aids in calming kids down, making them feel relaxed, allows them to have fun and heal their inner child, and helps them regulate their emotions.
