Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It would be nice to have a few extra materials to supplement my students' learning in a fun and interactive way. Unfortunately, budget cuts don't allow for the "extras" that engage and reinforce learning.

My students are 5-year-old children who live in a low socio-economic community.

The majority of students are English language learners. They are great kids, but many times have to deal with difficult situations in their lives. Though our school may not be located in a great area, we work hard to give our students an inviting place to learn and experience new and memorable things and an opportunity for a better life.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will give my students new opportunities to reinforce what they know, develop in needed areas, and enhance their overall intellects. The write and wipe markers will be used with our white boards for writing practice, both independently and in small groups. Similarly, we have magic boards for students to practice independent writing, but the alphabet cards will also help students who are still struggling with letter recognition. The alphabet bingo, wikki stix alphabet cards, and highlighter tape will also help students with letter name and sound recognition and word recognition. The pattern block cards and textured rubbing cards will stimulate the students' minds and allow them to be creative in class. Finally, the picture bingo will help my English language learners learn new vocabulary.

All of these materials will be fully used and loved by my students.

They will help to engage students in a fun and interactive way. And they will enhance their educational experience.
