This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Being part of a title one school we get to see the needs of the students we serve. They come from a variety of backgrounds, life experiences and do the best with what they have.
Our students value the education provided to them.
Our students enjoy applying what they learn into real world experiences. They appreciate knowing that the skills learned in school will be needed not only in school but in their every day lives.
Our school has a large ELL population and high needs for differentiation and authentic learning experiences. Our campus is a family of teachers, support staff and learners that truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.
My Project
You may think technology is just a distraction, but it can help encourage active participation in the classroom. Integrating technology in the classroom assists students with different learning styles and helps them stay engaged. With your help I can create purposeful lessons that will allow my students to reach academic related content from multiple sources through the use of technology.
As a math and science teacher I will use the Galaxy Tablets as a way for students to independently and collaboratively research topics and as a way to see academic content being used in the real world.
The Galaxy Tablets will also be used during math rotations to help them practice previously taught content from the use of different math programs and during science by allowing students to research information needed to complete classroom projects.
Technology transforms the learning experience. Having the Galaxy Tablets will help create a student centered atmosphere in my classroom. Students will have ownership of their learning when working on their own or with a group through the use of technology. The future of education is here and I hope to equip my students with resources that will allow them to reach their full potential.
