My Students
I teach at a low social-economic elementary school. 98% percent of my students are at or below the poverty line. Their economic status does not define my students. They are always happy and eager to learn.
My students are extremely resilient.
They are attempting and overcoming their individual obstacles. We talk about their future careers and what University they will be attending on a weekly basis. My students know that with hard work and determination the sky is the limit!
My Project
I have centers to help teach all of the subjects in my classroom. I teach math, reading, writing, science, health and social studies. I do this through cooperative learning.
My goal is to teach all of these subjects through fun yet rigorous activities.
I highly doubt anybody wants to be doing worksheets all day. Children learn and retain more information when they are having fun!
The vocabulary, grammar, punctuation and reading comprehension bingo games will have my students learning while having fun. Instead of dreading coming to school, my students will look forward to coming to school in order to play games.
