My Students

My kindergarten class loves to learn! We are highly motivated and get excited about all of our learning adventures. My class ages span from age four to six years old. Many of the students in our school come from low income families receiving free or reduced lunch and are included in the backpack program. The back pack program provides food for the weekend for families in need. The school plays a vital part in the community hosting numerous events and activities.

My Project

My class likes to read fun, engaging books to help learn our reading skills. We read books like Otis and Piggie Pie. These titles are good literature and part of our engaging reading curriculum. My classroom has only a few of the book titles I need. This project would complete the titles needed for our desired reading enrichment supplements.

The books listed would serve as mentor texts to teach re-telling, inferring, making connections, and predictions.

These books would play an integral part of helping my kindergarteners engage in loving to read. Reading skills should be fun to learn and matched with inspiration from good literature.
