Extra Extra Read All About It...Non-Fiction Reading Is Essential!
My students need to brush up on their non-fiction reading skills while staying on top of current events. TIME for Kids is a favorite resource for doing just that!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are sweet, driven, smart 9,10, and 11-year olds from the South Bronx. They come to school excited to grow and learn every day. No matter what is going on in their personal lives, they come to our classroom happy and full of love for each other.
My kids learn best when they have the opportunity to work together to create plans, ask questions, and solve problems about the world around them.
They are on their way to becoming the future leaders of our country and I'm honored to be a small part of their journey.
My Project
My students are so interested in learning about current events, sharing their opinions about their readings, and dreaming about their futures. TIME for Kids is a favorite reading resource and their little faces light up when the magazines arrive each week.
They love how the articles are interesting, relevant, and inspiring; I love how the articles create numerous opportunities for classroom discussion, debate, and enrichment activities as well as help each of them improve their reading skills.
Having access to TIME for Kids will be an invaluable resource within our classroom, inspiring my students to think and discuss the events happening in our world, while also helping them become better readers.
