This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
We were given 30 iPad minis about a year ago, and my students LOVED THEM…for the very brief period that they were useful.
As soon as we began to use them, they began to fail.
Several weren’t staying charged, several would take most of the class period to load a PDF…I know, first world problems.
That said, I have students with physical and visual impairments who benefitted greatly from access to this equipment.
So, the plan is to begin to replace them! I’ve got a grant coming in the fall for three iPads, and will begin fundraising throughout the year to at least have a few available for students. The use of iPads in my classroom will also provide for presentation equipment, a means to save on copies and printing, and opportunities for independent study activities for group assignments. Your help is GREATLY appreciated!
