My students need a printer in our classroom, that can also scan and make copies, in order to start their school newspaper.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Orijel's classroom raised $238

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Education cost money, but then so does ignorance" -Claus Moser
We cannot deprive our students of experiences that will ultimately help them became more critical thinkers. We must provide them with more rigorous projects that challenge them to think outside the box.
My students are enthusiastic learners from a low-income area.
They are very intuitive and enjoy our many writing sessions. About half the class is gifted, or high achieving students who need to be stimulated with challenging projects. They are fifth graders, which means they are the leaders of our school. They serve as role models to their younger classmates.
My Project
With your help, my students will be able to begin a school newspaper that will have students writing about our school events, as well as current events, in their own words. This will promote leadership, as well as sharpen their reading and writing skills.
This project is very important because it will help students start a newspaper that they will call their own.
These students desire ownership of their work, and would be proud to display it to their school. They deserve the opportunity to do so.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
