My Students
I am a third grade teacher at an urban school in Indiana. I am one person, of many, who every day makes a difference in the lives of the students who enter our school. We build readers, writers, thinkers, scientists, historians, and mathematicians.
My school community is comprised of financially struggling families of all races, languages, and religions and extremely hardworking teachers and staff.
I teach students of all abilities, multiple languages, and from a variety of backgrounds. As a community, we are trying to give all the students attending our school an opportunity for a better future.
My Project
I am requesting subscriptions to Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines for students. These magazines will provide students additional opportunities to read and analyze engaging text. The flexibility of the materials allows students to use them both at home and at school. This will provide consistency in resources and access to text no matter where we are learning.
Students need texts on their level that they are excited to read about!
Scholastic News and Science Spin will provide them that opportunity. These magazines will supplement our grade level curriculum and other texts the students choose, while providing a magazine format. I know my students will be excited to read and learn from these materials!
