This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is full of 26 energetic fifth graders who are ready to learn. In addition to my homeroom class, I also teach ELA (Reading and Writing) to two other fifth grade classes. All of my students are eager to learn and ready to give their best every day.
I am lucky to share my classroom with my students who push me to be a better teacher each and every day.
In my classroom, I want to be able to offer more book choices for book clubs. I believe students learn best when they have a choice and these books will enhance my students' literacy skills.
My Project
All of these books will give my students choices for their book clubs. Students will have access to many different books. Once they've selected their book, students will be participating in book clubs.
Book clubs will allow my fifth graders to strengthen their literacy skills.
Students will be practicing their active listening skills by thinking, reading, speaking, and listening to their peers discuss the books. Kids will grow immensely by sharing the book and their thinking with others in the book club. When the students are done with the book, they'll be creating video presentations to share the book with other students. These books will be read and enjoyed by many fifth graders!
