Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low income and high poverty school. My students are faced with up and down situations on a daily basis. We are a 100% free and reduced price breakfast and lunch school in a very large city. Sometimes the only meals students get are from school. We have a community of parents that care and love their children very much. They want to see them succeed to their highest potential. Some students have a hard time staying focused because of what might be going on in their life at home. Regardless of what challenges my students face, they want to achieve all that they possibly can.

My Project

My seventh graders would love to get to read this book. The story about the main character relates to most of my boys. We have read the first Max and they would really love to have the second to read together with their friends.

Max the Mighty is an awesome book to teach literary skills with as well.

It has so many adventures, the children love to read about. Therefore, keeps them very interested in the story.

By giving me a class set, I feel we can do so much more with groups of students together. They can work learning the standards that they have to know as well.
