My Students
My students are 98 fantastic and diverse students. They have many learning challenges but are eager to succeed. These classes are made up of 40% special educations students with a variety of emotional and academic disabilities. Some my students are on the autism spectrum.
Many students are from low income homes and are being raised by single parents and are currently in a title one school.
Despite their challenges they come to school each day with hope for their own future and educational destination. I may not be able to control their home life, however I can control their experience at school.
My students need stimulating and exciting academic exposure in order to solidify the content they are learning.
My Project
Please help my sixth grade students demonstrate and share their knowledge through technology! In our school we have an older printer that is shared by all the classrooms. When it stops working, it will not be replaced.
My sixth grade students enjoy using technology to create projects to display information they have learned.
Using a computer and a printer is also an additional way for students with special needs to express their knowledge.
With a new printer and ink, they will be able to print the pages for researching and then sharing that information. Since the students are at all different levels its important for them to have differentiated reading which they can print in order to annotate and have a deeper meaning of their reading. These kids need this printer so they can be proud and share their work!!!
