Where I teach is a 100% Free Lunch, Title I, and Hurricane Katrina school. Our students are severely low income. We are in desperate need of basic materials for everyday use. Coming from a poor economy leaves little funds for "extra" things. The items I am asking for will greatly help eliminate many problems I am having making manipulatives and copies for my students to use each day. I am asking for a copier that not only I can use, but two more first grade teachers can use. This will help provide the necessary copies needed for our students. We are allotted 1000 copies per month. This lasts about 1 and 1/2 weeks. By the time we run off tests, there aren't any copies left for anything else. We also tutor after school and are not allotted extra copies for after school use. We would be most grateful if you could help with a copier for our classes. We are also asking for a laminator. We are allowed 1 poster sized, 2 8x10 sized, 10 5x7 sized, and 20 4x5 sized sheets for the entire year. This makes it difficult for the 1st grade teachers to make materials and manipulatives to tutor our students. When making manipulatives with construction paper or card stock they last only a little while. If we had a laminator these same manipulatives would last year after year. A class laminator would help us tremendously. Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
