This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello and thank you for your interest in our project. Teachers often reflect on how we can improve our instruction. In this case we want to improve our social studies and social emotional instruction. We believe that by teaching our little ones about the music, food, customs, and celebrations of other cultures, students will learn to appreciate them. They'll also learn that there are many similarities between cultures. We look forward to using Scholastics magazines as part of the resources our students may use when working on small group research projects. Learning how to research and investigate will promote critical thinking skills, communication, collaboration, and problem solving.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
