My Students
My students love coming to school everyday because learning is active, fun, creative, and hands-on! They love creating works of art, technology, and engineering. Their curiosity is in everything they do.
My students are multi-cultural, multi-lingual, multi-racial, and MULTI-FACETED!
They are a true melting pot that represents our global lives!
We are an innovative STEM integrated curriculum school located in a small neighborhood with high parent and community involvement. My students get to help design project-based units of discovery and inquiry throughout the year.
My Project
I will use these weekly Scholastic News Magazines during our reading group rotations, individual guided reading time, and cooperative partner work to encourage my first graders' emerging reading skills. We will also use the science magazines to create wonder and investigation.
These magazines will open my students' minds to a world larger than just our classroom, school, and neighborhood.
It will make our global society accessible and relatable by showing that children are similar all over the world.
Because these full color magazines are geared specifically towards first graders, the content is engaging and appropriate to our learning goals. Thank You!
