My Students

We live in an electronic age and our children learn quickly! Using technology prepares them for future careers as well as makes learning fun. With education cuts, schools have to do a lot more with a lot less. A tablet can be a sight word coach while teacher works with a small group.

Our diverse public school hosts families from all over the globe!

Our school students are involved in extra curricular activities. We have talented musicians and artists. Many of our students speak at least two languages with many of the students speaking English as a second language. Some children need extra support with alphabet letters and sounds.

My Project

Tablets are a portable way to bring the world to students. The curriculum includes digital stories to reinforce literacy skills. Apps are a fun way to review skills and work on areas that need improvement. Working alone teaches independence and an ownership of learning. Working with a partner teaches cooperation and patience. Along with content area skills, students will be able to learn problem solving and social skills. In addition, using a tablet targets different styles of learners.

Your donation will help bring a teaching tool to a large population of English language learners.

This project is important because it puts learning, technology and information into the hands of the students. It also prepares them for the technology we adults use on a daily basis. Thank you!
