Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students inspire me every day with their resilience, creativity, and unique perspectives. I am dedicated to creating a classroom where each student feels valued, included, and empowered to express themselves and connect with others. The resources I am requesting are thoughtfully selected to address their diverse learning styles and social-emotional needs.

The HP Sprocket Studio Plus Instant Color Photo Printer, along with its case and photo paper, will help us capture and celebrate special classroom moments.

Printing and displaying these photos not only builds positive memories but also fosters a sense of belonging and pride. Sharing these images with families strengthens the home-school connection and allows students to showcase their achievements.

Fujifilm film will be used to create visual displays of friendships, activities, and progress, reinforcing social connections and boosting self-esteem. These visual reminders help students reflect on their growth and the relationships they are building.

A wide variety of art supplies—including googly eyes, art trays, crinkle scissors, pipe cleaners, tissue paper, pom poms, liquid glue, paint trays, blank drawing books, plastic folders, pencil pouches, and paint brushes—will provide opportunities for creative expression and hands-on learning. These materials are essential for developing fine motor skills, encouraging teamwork, and supporting communication through collaborative art projects.

Individual and noise-canceling headphones are tools that will support sensory regulation and allow students to participate in lessons at their own comfort level.

Classroom games and sensory tools—such as UNO cards, emotions/feelings matching cards, sensory fidgets, putty, stretchy strings, spinners, a letter activity center, pattern design cards, shape sorting toys, lacing animals, and sensory mats—promote social interaction, emotional awareness, and self-regulation in a fun, supportive environment.

Finally, a desk organizer and monitor stand will help keep our classroom organized, ensuring students can easily find and use the materials they need.
