My students need the Oculus Touch controllers, a storage box to keep the Oculus Rift equipment safe and secure, and a USB expansion card to provide enough ports for the new touch controllers and camera.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our Title I college-prep and career readiness charter school, starting in 8th grade with Fundamentals of CompSci and continuing through AP CompSci, App Design, and Game Design, our students have the unique opportunity to gain experience using real-world technology while preparing for industry-standard certifications and university degrees. We have seen some remarkable creations in apps, games, engineering, and beyond with our incredibly limited resources. The question is, what could we do if we had access to the evolving and emerging technologies of thier future?
The Mixed, Augmented, and Virtual Reality products of today will be the commonplace technology of the future, and our goal is to engage students with these technologies starting now.
We have been approved for the purchase and use of an Oculus Rift headset and computer and will engage our students with this incredible technology. In order to extend their learning and bring a higher level of immersion to the original project, we would like to purchase Oculus Touch controllers. These controllers will allow our students to bring fully engage with this bleeding-edge technology.
My Project
With virtual reality, immersion is the key. Being able to touch and feel and interact naturally with things in a 3D space is incredibly important to you feeling as if you are "there." This technology extends the students experience of virtual reality to the level of nearly natural immersion and movement. The use of touch controllers opens up entirely new experiences for the students to interact with and crate, as they are able to interact in a natural way with the virtual worlds they are experiencing and creating. This will deep the students learning of spatial computing. The other pieces are such as the USB hub and case ensure that the technology will work well out of the box and last a long time.
