My Project
In addition to tutorial services offered to all students by their general education teachers, the EL teacher will also continue to offer tutorial services for all ELs. Tutoring is not content-specific. At the site, students are provided with the support needed to understand an assignment, complete the work, be provided with materials if needed, and be able to submit their work successfully in a timely manner. Partnership with the classroom teachers will often occur to ensure clarity and prevent confusion for all parties involved.
The sustenance/snacks will be offered to students to make it easier for them to decide to stay after school, which will run from 3-5 pm, instead of leaving without accessing available support.
Current data shows that despite the school's effort to provide support in the classroom during school hours, an extended learning opportunity option still serves as a viable option for students. When students attend after-school tutoring in addition to attending school regularly, their grades go up, and they avoid repeating a course.
