Expressing Positive Emotions and Mental Health Awareness Through Fashion/Design

My Project

My fashion, merchandising and retail pathway students will combine the power of fashion with mental health awareness by creating custom-designed shirts that promote positive mental health messages. Students will learn about marketing, design, and mental health while collaborating to create stylish and impactful apparel that can be worn as a statement of support and awareness.

Students will brainstorm and design shirts that feature positive affirmations and mental health messages, aiming to destigmatize mental health conversations.

Students will explore marketing techniques to promote their shirt designs, including social media campaigns, promotional events, and community engagement. Students will take a photo shoot pictures in their shirts to promote positive mental health strategies. The photo shoot will be a way to showcase their creativity. Students will use T-shirt blanks (various sizes) and heat transfer vinyl to create shirts.

This project will not only empower students to express themselves creatively but also foster a supportive community around mental health. By wearing these shirts, students can spark conversations, raise awareness, and promote a culture of understanding and acceptance regarding mental health issues.
