it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Expression of emotions are a natural way to show others what we are thinking and we have experienced. However, many times this expression is shown in an unhealthy way via yelling, fighting, self-harm. The goal is for the students at my school to have an opportunity to express their emotions in a healthy manner and most importantly in a safe environment.
Many students have a difficult time verbalizing their emotions but hold so much pain and my goal is to provide them a safe outlet through art to share their emotions.
My hope is for my students to make connections between their own feelings (anger, frustration, hope, fear, worry) through art (shapes, lines, words, pictures).
The supplies will allow me to create an opportunity for my students of the high school to find a healthier way to manage, process, and express their emotions and feelings. The dream: for art to be a standard in helping students express themselves.
