Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My early learning students come from all walks of life. Most of them are English Language Learners -and they come from diverse, low-income families.
By removing barriers, our children learn about accepting other cultures and ethnic groups.
We love to teach our kids how to use their English language, get along, share, and feel good about themselves! Together we can support marginalized communities and help them succeed.
My Project
Because of Covid 19, students have experienced trauma and inconsistent home situations. I can help my students process what is going on in the world around them by giving them lots of tools to draw, write, and act out how they feel.
Kids don't always have the vocabulary they need to say how they feel.
Using dramatic play and visual arts, they can feel capable of communicating their emotions. These materials in this project will help me open up communication lines with my children. We will paint, act and sing together.
