My Students
My students are a very special group of children. We are the epitome of a melting pot school. We have children from five out of the seven continents.
Each child brings something special from their culture to the classroom.
Our class is also filled with a variety of different types of learners. They are always striving to do their best. We work hard, but have fun doing it. This project will allow my students to bring to life something that represents them and their culture.
My Project
Each child in my 5th grade class has a unique cultural identity. Each child is going to create a project that represent who he/she is. Thanks to the Cricut, each child will be able to find photos and drawings online and get them cut out. The cutouts will then be used to form a culture collage highlighting their heritage.
When the projects are being displayed, the students will learn about each other's background and family's journey to the United State.The children will see similarities and differences between each other.
In the beginning of the year, each child enters the room as an individual. This project will turn us into a respectful and united community.
