Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

School is cool! These are the words that many of my Kindergarten students have been writing. They have taken ownership of these words. Every day they are becoming more and more confident in themselves and in their ability to write. They have amazed themselves by writing the word school, because according to them it's a big word.

There are 22 diverse little human beings in our classroom.

Each having their own family story, own learning style, way to express themselves, and their own dream for the future.

We are in a school that serves students in the grades TK-6. Some of my students have a parent that attended our school.

My Project

This easel will greatly help our classroom by having all materials together in one spot. It is at the students visual level and is assessable to them. They will be able to share their ideas, as they share the marker to write their stories. They will visually see the correct letter formation, as they use the lines to help guide their letters and sentences. On the other side of the easel will serve to help us brainstorm ideas and develop visual maps to organize our ideas. We will enjoy using our magnetic letters to sort, to learn, and create words.
