Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 1st grade ELAR at a Title I school. The children are of a lower-income level. The children need to be shown that reading can help them to learn, enjoy, and grow.
The students are eager learners and they need a classroom library that allows the students a variety of genres and interest level books.
Our school has a low budget so any purchases for books are passed to donors. Please help us to build a strong passion for books by giving children good examples of available books. The lifelong goal to read will give these students a college goal and confidence to follow through.
The students need to get hooked on reading!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read, they read with partners, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind to offer variety and a good selection. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. The classroom library will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!
