This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a public Montessori school in which our students start by learning practical life skills which they will use in everyday life. Our students are an amazing group of 3 - 6 year olds. They stay in our classroom for a three year cycle. The relationships that they develop are inspiring.
Our students come to us from an urban environment in which resources run scarce and teachers have to find imaginative ways to engage our students.
Most of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, however they come to school eager to learn.
My Project
The Animal Continent Box is an excellent extension of the puzzle maps and globe work we currently have in our classroom. The study of plants and animals make up a large part of the biology study in our classroom. The requested Animal Continent Box is an excellent extension to the current map and social skills that our students participate have in our classroom.
The Animal Continent Box offers my students there first introduction to animal species and the seven continents in an exciting way of learning about geography and the important connection of animals and our earth.
The hands-on matching and identification cards are a great way to help children expand their vocabulary, learn about animals and the continents, and inspire strong literacy skills.
