My Students
My students are four and five year old children who meet the criteria for our state's non-mandated program guidelines. Our program is offered to students first based on their economic need. Pre-K is the first school experience for my students and builds the foundation for their school career.
Our classroom is a place where we all come together to learn about school.
Students come from a variety of backgrounds and neighborhoods, not just our school neighborhood. We work together to create a classroom family where learning and fun become one.
My Project
Every year I like to include at least one new center to my classroom. I have been hoping to find the funds for a light table for some time.
A light table will add a new area of interest to our classroom as well expand creativity and learning opportunities where the children can explore pattern, shape, form, color, opacity and color mixing.
Light tables provide a calming influence and invite sensory exploration which provides motivation and engaging attention for sustained periods of time. Children can expand their learning in a whole new world of discovery as they play and learn with this new tool.
