My Project
My students enjoy playing in the water in our classroom. The feel of water as they wash their hands peeks their curiosity and opportunity for play. Water is considered natural material for learning. Children can explore math concepts such as pouring water into measuring cups to determine volume, weights, and the relationship between different quantities. When they drop items such as feathers or stones into a tub of water, they are scientists making predictions whether objects sink or float. We want to further students' curiosity by providing a new water table and materials to broaden their experience more about states of matter.
