Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with 24 very special and unique students with intellectual and behavioral disabilities. They bring joy to our group time every day. The majority of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and come from a home where English is not the predominant language spoken at home.
My students are always eager to learn but may never get the opportunity to travel outside their hometown!
My students foster a love of learning and I am trying to get them excited to learn more about the world outside our school building!
My Project
My students will be able to explore and learn about the world they live in while reading, Time For Kids, from the comfort of the classroom. My students do not explore outside their homes as they have not had the experiences that many others students have had. By reading these magazines, the world will come alive to them and not only motivate, but educate them in ways that we may never realize!
What a wonderful experience to increase knowledge and feel as if they are truly experiencing firsthand what they are reading!
Time For Kids bring to life engaging articles that can spark interest and change a students' life in the future. Students comprehension skills and vocabulary will soar as they incorporate these magazines into their daily reading.
